Santa Maria Cathedral in Burgos
Santa Maria Cathedral in Burgos' city center is a Catholic chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Construction began in 1221, using the Gothic style of French Cathedrals, but there are several examples of Renaissance and Baroque architecture inside the chapel. The Cathedral underwent significant changes in the XV and XVI Centuries. The Cathedral was both constructed and remodelled using limestone quarried from the nearby town of Burgos Hontoria Cantera.
